Costa Mesa Neighborhood Spotlight – College Park (And Garage Sale!)

There are so many great Costa Mesa neighborhoods to call home. Many people have heard of College Park. It’s a neighborhood where the streets are named after prominent colleges. Just drive through the neighborhood and check out the street names for fun: Wake Forest, Villanova, Loyola, Vassar, Bowdoin, Cornell, Fordham… The list goes on!

The Homes

College Park is a large neighborhood with about 950 homes. Most of the homes were built in the 1950s however many have been updated over time. Generally the homes are single-story ranches. Many of the streets are quiet cul-de-sacs that are family-friendly and it’s not uncommon to see kids riding bikes, people walking dogs, or friends playing basketball on the street.

Upcoming Event

Torelli Realty agent Eric Guzik will be holding the College Park Garage Sale on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Anyone who lives in the neighborhood is welcome to sign up by emailing and putting “College Park Garage Sale” in the subject line.

College Park Elementary School is centrally located and an easy walk for most in the neighborhood. Older students attend middle school and high school at Mesa/Costa Mesa High School (Go Mustangs!), which is just outside College Park and still a close walk for most.

So where exactly is College Park? It’s a central neighborhood in Costa Mesa. You’ll find Harbor Blvd. to the west, Merrimac & Arlington to the north, the 55 FWY to the east, and Wilson to the south. The neighborhood is full of life because it’s so close to the great entertainment of the OC Fair and Pacific Ampitheater.
