The Costa Mesa youth programs are an essential part of the community and they are in need of funding. After the wild success of last year’s tournament, it’s time for another round. Join the community and support The Costa Mesa United Community Foundation.

6th Annual Bub-A-Que For Brian “Bubba” Kapko Foundation

Brian “Bubba” Kapko touched the lives of many. In his memory, his family established the Brian Kapko Foundation, which aims to reflect the activities that Brian treasured. The foundation is holding their annual fundraiser at Angel Stadium on Sat., June 26, 2010. The funds raised will be used to support local youth sports, education, and community outreach. There are 100 tickets available and last year was a sell out so make sure to buy yours today.

WHEN: Saturday, June 26, 2010. Gathering & food at 3pm, First pitch at 6:05pm.

WHERE: Angel Stadium. Watch the Angels take on the Colorado Rockies.

COST: $40 donation. Includes 1 ticket to the game, a commemorative t-shirt for the Bub-A-Que, food & drinks.

Volcom Skate Park in Costa Mesa Hosts The Slam OC

Here’s a great event for all those Costa Mesa skateboarders and any OC skateboarder who’s looking for a fun event – The Slam OC. Volcom Skate Park in Costa Mesa is hosting the event. They’re expecting a huge crowd and it’s sure to be a fantastic event. Torelli Realty will be one of the vendors and there is going to be amazing music, food, clothing vendors, sports vendors, and of course skateboarding demos. The event is geared toward all ages (there will be a Kid Zone) so bring the whole family out for a fun day in the sun.

Please note that the net proceeds from this event will benefit battered women and their children.  The festival is also going to promote eco-conscious elements to encourage a healthy lifestyle and environmental stewardship. We’re all for eco-friendly initiatives as was reported in The Daily Voice.
